Challenge

HotelPORT, a digital marketing  firm for hotels, wanted to promote the rebranding of one of its hotel clients.  Originally a Best Western in Louisville, Kentucky, the property had recently undergone an ownership change and a $5-million renovation to become a Holiday Inn Express.

The new owners wanted to make the announcement in the trade media and to also promote the rebranding locally so area businesses and residents could begin referring customers to the upgraded hotel.

Solution

Susan Greene worked with HotelPORT to craft a press release that would be sent out to national and local media.

Result

The press release was effective in promoting the new Holiday Inn Express franchise. More importantly, the content of the release was used to set the tone and establish the wording for future marketing materials to promote the hotel.

Holiday Inn Express Louisville, KY Completes Rebranding & Renovation

Louisville, KY – Holiday Inn Express Louisville Airport Expo Center in Louisville, KY has announced the completion of its rebranding process and is now fully operational. Originally built in 1968, the hotel was the Best Western Louisville Airport Expo Center prior to a change in ownership in 2015.

Over the past year, the four-story, 150-room property has undergone an extensive $5-million renovation in conjunction with the franchise change. The hotel structure was gutted and everything replaced including flooring, furniture, fixtures and finishes in all public areas and guest rooms.  All electrical and plumbing throughout the hotel was also updated.

Owned by Newburg Hospitality, LLC and operated by General Hospitality Services, the Holiday Inn Express Louisville now features the new “Formula Blue” design developed by parent company InterContinental Hotels Group.

In addition to attractive, contemporary furnishings, every room includes numerous USB charging ports and outlets, which are conveniently integrated into the headboard and Media Panel.  Even the desk lamp has two globally universal outlets to accommodate all of the guest’s electronics.

“We are proud to be a part of the IHG brand and excited to bring a fresh, new product to the Newburg Airport corridor,” said Shannon Murphy, general manager of the hotel.

Amenities at the renovated Holiday Inn Express Louisville now include a large outdoor pool, three meeting rooms, a fully equipped business center, a 24-hour market and a guest laundry.
