Challenge

For over 25 years, Joan Ravasy has operated a highly successful interior design firm. All of our business came from repeat customers and referrals. She’d never done any advertising or marketing. But she recognized that times were changing and competition was heavier than ever before.

Joan realized that although she’d done well through word-of-mouth, she was ready to take things up a notch. For starters she needed a website that showcased her services and capabilities.

Solution

Joan contracted Susan Greene to write about her interior design business. Susan had lengthy conversations with Joan about her experience, her work and her plans for the future and then wrote the copy for each of the pages.

It was especially important to Joan that the “About Joan” page be more than a simple bio. She wanted it to provide a window into her design philosophy and approach.

Susan knew no run-of-the-mill About page would be sufficient, so she and Joan spent considerable time deciding what information to include and how best to present it. The finished page is longer than most interior designers’ About pages but is effective in helping prospective customers determine if Joan is the right interior designer for their project.

Result

The website was launched, and in both design and content, it reflects the type of interior designer Joan is. She is happy with the image it portrays and knows the website will be a positive factor in helping her attract new clients.
