Jainaba Jengsallah founded Kitchens of Africa in Raleigh, North Carolina. Originally from The Gambia in Western Africa, she realized she couldn’t find any of the African foods she knew and loved in her country. She decided to make introducing African cuisine to America, and eventually the world, her mission. She developed a line of cooking sauces and marinades that could be used to create traditional African home-cooked meals.
While Jainaba was confident creating African foods, she needed help marketing her products.
Susan Greene, freelance copywriter, worked with Jainaba to develop a website that explained the evolution of her company and described its tasty products. The site had to be extremely professional so Jainaba could direct buying agents for major grocery store chains to it. Additionally, Susan assisted Jainaba with creating the content for product labels and various promotional tools such as signage for trade shows and recipe cards.
Today Kitchens of Africa has a large and loyal following. Jainaba is continually adding to her product lines and enhancing her marketing efforts as well. Her sauces have won culinary awards and can be found in grocery store chains around the U.S. including Whole Foods Market.
As I read through my website, I see your handiwork in all the pages. Every time I read it over, I think about you. You have a way with words that is a gift from above. The message is so powerful, sometimes it brings me to tears, but best of all, it helps me keep fighting and makes me feel so proud of what I’m trying to do. I could not have done it without you. Thanks so much.
