Copywriting Advice for Massage Therapists

Write a compelling About Us page to promote your massage practice.

As a freelance copywriter, I frequently help businesses craft a compelling About Us page. I believe prospective customers want to know who they’re dealing with before making a purchase, especially if it’s a small- to mid-sized business that doesn’t have instant name recognition. I encourage companies to tell the story behind their founding and evolution.

Recently, I was interviewed by “Massage Magazine” regarding how massage therapists can use their About Us page to promote their services. It offers an opportunity to differentiate their capabilities from other practices.

An About Us page is an important component on a massage therapist website. Choose your words wisely.

In the article, I suggested massage therapists explain how they got started on their massage journey. Their story doesn’t need to be earth-shattering, but it should be relevant and relatable for the reader.

I also encouraged massage therapists to express their values, their deeply-held beliefs about how massage therapy can help and what clients should expect.

Because we were talking about web copy, I reminded massage therapists to use keywords for search engine optimization (SEO). The right search terms can drive traffic to their website. For example, “myofascial massage” would be a good search term to if they practice MFR.

Keep SEO in mind. Infuse your web copy with keywords and relevant search terms.

Finally, I highly recommended that massage therapists use a real picture on their About page. People like to see who they do business with. Including an actual picture as opposed to a stock photo will help prospective customers feel they know you and can trust you.
